Coach Laffin's Skills & Drills Basketball Camp 
featuring
Coach Brian Laffin.
Coach Laffin has over twenty years’ experience as a head coach and is most known for coaching the Poughkeepsie High School Pioneers. He has guided the Pioneers to numerous league titles, holiday tournament championships and the 2013 Section I Class A Championship. He currently has four former college players playing professionally.  Coach Laffin’s coaching career began when he became the youngest college men’s head coach in the United States at Dutchess Community College, coaching his first game at the age of 23. He is currently a member of the Dutchess County Coaches Association and board member of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York. (BCANY.org) He has worked many summer camps including camps at the University of Kentucky and Syracuse University. Coach Laffin has received numerous Coach of the Year Honors during his career. He is currently an assistant coach at the Millbrook Prep School. He resides in Town of Pleasant Valley.

Early Registration Discount:   Now through April 16th (discount of $25 applied at check out)


 Regular Registration begins April 17th and will close when camp is full or on July 29th, whichever comes first.    ALL MEDICAL FORMS MUST BE IN THE RECREATION OFFICE THE 29th TO ATTEND CAMP.

             *REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED TWO WEEKS BEFORE FIRST DAY OF CAMP
                                                TO AVOID LATE REGISTRATION FEE.

Daily Camp Schedule
  • 8:00—8:30 Camper Drop Off
  • 8:30–9:00 Dynamic Basketball Warm up
  • Provided by North Star Sports
  • 9:00-9:15 Skill of the Day
  • 9:15–10:15 Offensive and Defensive Stations
  • 10:15–10:30 Water Break and Nutritional Snack
  • 10:30-11:00 Team Practice
  • 11:00-11:45 Games and Competitions
  • 11:45-12:00 Camper pick up

IMPORTANT MEDICAL INFORMATION
**MEDICAL HISTORY/IMMUNIZATIONS: Dutchess County Department of Health regulations require that we have, on file, the Immunization Records AS WELL AS their current Medical History FROM the physician's office in lieu of our past Medical Screening Form.
Must be current and dated between September 1st, 2020 and August 31st, 2021.
Please submit a copy of these records IMMEDIATELY, either
by UPLOADING THE RECORD OR
having the doctor’s office fax them directly to the Rec Office, 845-266-3873, OR
via regular mail to 1554 Main Street, Pleasant Valley, OR
if need be they can be dropped by the Rec Office located at 27 Hibernia Road, Salt Point.
MUST BE SUBMITTED ASAP BUT NO LATER THAN TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO START OF CAMP SESSION THEY ARE REGISTERED FOR.
A Camp physical is not mandatory, but any and all health concerns must be noted.

General Information
  • Sneakers MUST be worn each day
  • Water bottles and a healthy snack should be sent daily - insulated bags are best for snacks that require refrigeration
  • ALL belongings MUST be marked with child's name
  • The registration process asks for "Who Will / May Pick up your child from camp" each day. If someone other than who is listed, will pick up your child, we MUST have it in writing stating as such. ID for this person will be required at the time of pick-up.
